Minna May 26, 2017( NAN) The Chief Imam of Minna Central Mosque, Sheik Ibrahim Fari, on Friday urged religious leaders to help curb social vices in the country through their preaching during the Ramadan.
Fari told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna that such was important in moulding children and other Muslims to be upright and engage in good deeds.
He admonished Muslims to support the education of their children both western and Islamic knowledge for them to be upright.
Fari, therefore, said religious leaders should inculcate moral values in children since their hearts will be pure at that tender age.
He described education as the bedrock of development, adding that Islam attaches great importance to knowledge and scholarship.
The chief Imam stressed that it was mandatory in Islam for those with knowledge to share it to humanity and not engage in vainglory and pursuit of material comfort.
He explained that acquisition of Islamic knowledge was connected with ethics, morality and virtue.
The chief Imam cautioned traders against increasing prices of basic amenities during the Ramadan, in order to earn Allah’s blessings.(NAN)
