Lagos, Dec. 15, 2016 (NAN) Two security guards were brought before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State on Thursday for allegedly breaking into an office and stealing phones worth N490,300.
The accused, Idris Lukeman (25) and Onyebuchi Akabuogu (33), whose addresses were not stated, are facing a five-count charge bordering on burglary and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Ishola Samuel, told the court the accused persons committed the offences on Nov. 7 at Iju Road, Agege area of Lagos at night.
According to him, the accused broke into the office through the ceiling and made away with different units of phones belonging to Spectrum Innovation Technologies.
He said the items were estimated at N490, 300.
Samuel told the court that the duo also conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace.
The offences, according to the prosecutor, contravened Sections 409, 305, 348, 285 and 307 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The duo, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge and were each granted bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two responsible sureties in like sum.
The magistrate, Mrs A.R. Onilogbo, said the sureties should show evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
She then adjourned the case to Dec. 19, for mention. (NAN)
