Applicant charged for theft of 2 phones

Lagos, Dec. 15, 2016 (NAN) A 30-year-old unemployed man was on Thursday arraigned in Lagos for allegedly stealing two phones valued at N31, 000.

The accused, Olalekan Adebayo, whose address was not disclosed, is facing a two-count charge bordering on stealing before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.

Prosecutor Ishola Samuel told the court that the accused committed the offences on Dec. 8 at Aina Akira Street, Orile Agege, Lagos.

According to the prosecutor, the accused stole the phones from the residence of the comaplainant, Rafiu Muritala.

“The complainant caught the accused in the act and reported the theft at the police station which led to the arrest of the accused.’’

The offences contravened sections 285 and 166 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused pleaded not guilty and was granted a N50, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum.

The Magistrate, Mrs A. R. Onilogbo, adjourned the case to Dec. 21 for mention. (NAN)
