Lagos, April 4, 2017 (NAN) The South African Airways on Tuesday said it had received the 4-star Skytrax ranking award in both Business and Economy Class for the 15th consecutive year.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Skytrax 4-Star ranking is a seal of quality approval award.
It is awarded to airlines supplying quality services across a range of products and services delivery rating areas.
This rating is assessed by Skytrax, after detailed product and service standards audits, for each featured airline, not connected to any customer ratings.
According to a statement signed by its media consultant, Mr Mohammed Abdullahi, the airline said the rating signified that it was providing good standard product and staff service across all travel categories.
It listed such services to include cabin seating, safety standards, cabin cleanliness, comfort amenities, catering, tax-free sales, reading materials, in-flight entertainment and staff service.
“South African Airways has maintained quality levels throughout this challenging year for the industry.
“We have been delivering world-class product and service standards to our customers, making this 4-Star Airline ranking, well deserved.
“The SAA stations that were audited this year are the Oliver Tambo International Airport, Durban and Cape Town Airports in South Africa.
“Regional stations in Mauritius and Namibia as well as the international stations at Hong Kong, UK and Sao Paulo.
“The SAA’s brand new Airbus A330-300 aircraft fleet was also audited,’’ it said.
The statement also quoted the airline’s General Manager Operations, Mr Zuks Ramasia, as commending the hard work and commitment of workers toward achieving the fit.
“The South African Airways product and service standards continue to perform at a standard that is meeting the 4-Star levels and this applies to long-haul, regional and domestic flights,’’ Ramasia said. (NAN)
