Abuja, Jan. 11, 2017(NAN) The Senate at plenary on Wednesday described the late former Governor of Niger, Abdulkadir Kure, as a quintessential politician.

He called for a minute silence in honour of the deceased, saying that it was in solidarity with his wife, Zainab Kure, a one-time Senator.
In his remarks, the Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, who presided over plenary, said that a delegation led by the Deputy Leader of the Senate, Sen. Bala Na’Allah, had been sent to represent the senate.
He said that the senate was in touch with the deceased’s wife, adding that it was necessary to do in view of the fact she once served as a federal lawmaker.
He said: ‘’We are in touch with her and we have sent a delegation, led by Sen. Na’Allah.
“It is befitting that we honour him because he was a quintessential politician and a successful public servant. He served the country in different capacities.’’
