Abuja, Jan. 10, 2017 (NAN) The Acting Secretary, FCT Education Secretariat, Alhaji Musa Maikasuwa, has described the resumption of students for the second term as impressive.
Maikasuwa made this assertion on Tuesday in Abuja during visits to some selected schools.
He noted that the population of some public schools had also increased as some parents withdrew their children from private schools.
He said that the development had compounded the challenge of inadequate teachers in FCT schools.
He, however, said that efforts were being made to address the challenge.
“We were not expecting it but many people brought their children from private schools to public schools and the number of the teachers are inadequate due to the increase in the number of students.
“We trying our best to address the problem; so that we can maintain the good result of the territory in terms of being the best academically,’’ the acting secretary said.
