Dutse, Jan. 10, 2017 (NAN) No fewer than 26 Referees from Jigawa would participate in the 2016/2017 Physical Fitness Tests and Seminar for National and Nationwide League Referees and Referee Accessors.
The Chairman, Jigawa Referees Council, Alhaji Aliyu Baita, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Dutse that the exercise would take place between January 10 and 20, in Kano.
Baita said that 18 national league referees, four nationwide referees and four national league referee accessors from the state would participate in the exercise.
He explained that any referee who fails the physical fitness tests would not be appointed to officiate or handle matches in the forthcoming 2017 national and nationwide leagues.
The chairman, therefore, urged all the participating referees to work hard so as to pass the tests.
According to him, the referees would bring honour to the state by passing all categories of the physical fitness tests. (NAN)
