Minna, Feb. 1, 2017 (NAN)A total of 223 N-Teach teachers on Wednesday besieged Chanchaga Local Government Area headquarters, Minna, for their posting letters to their respective schools.
Yusuf Inuwa, the Council Chairman, who spoke through his Special Assistance on Special project Mallam Usmam Usman, said initially they did not post any teacher to Chanchaga until the council complained.
He said that out of the 223 teachers the council received, only three were males while 220 were females.
“Females are more in number because we do not want them to go far from their family, especially for the married women.
“Some are pregnant, some are lactating while some have large family and couldn’t leave Minna metropolis.
“Already Chanchaga Local government is saturated with teachers in the primary school and some of the teachers are redundant.
“But we are looking beyond primary school, we would have to make them teach in junior secondary Schools,” he said
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some of the teachers interview were grateful to the Federal Government for introducing the programme.(NAN)
