Dialogue

Kaduna, Feb 17, 2017 (NAN) An NGO, Global Peace Foundation in Kaduna state, says it has reached out to eight communities in southern part of Kaduna State to embrace dialogue and reconcile for peaceful co-existence.
The president of the NGO, John Oko, made the disclosure on Friday in Kaduna in an interview witht the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
He said that the aim of the “mediation and reconciliation’’ dialogue was to put an end to the killings in the area.
He added that it was also to ascertain from the communities the remote and immediate causes of the violence and seek ways of addressing them.
Oko said the organisation had intensified its campaign for tolerance and dialogue between the Fulanis and other tribes in southern Kaduna, adding that both parties had shown commitment to ensure permanent peace.
He said that the organisation had received the support and cooperation of traditional institutions in the area in its efforts to achieve preace co-existence among the warring parties.
He said that the organization would soon meet with the state government to intimate it with suggestions made by the communities on how to achieve lasting peace in the area. (NAN)
