Man,36, docked for alleged assault

Abuja, Jan. 9, 2018 (NAN) The Police on Tuesday arraigned a 36-year-old man, Denis Sule of Jabi, Abuja, in a Wuse Zone 2 Senior Magistrates’ Court, Abuja for alleged assault.
Sule was arraigned on a four- count -charge of joint act, mischief, assault and causing hurt.
The Prosecutor, Adeniyi Oyeyemi, told the court that the accused was reported at Wuse Police Station, Abuja, by one Felix Musa of Almond Plaza, Wuse Zone 3, Abuja, on Jan. 2.
The prosecutor said the complainant reported that the accused came to his office at Almond Plaza, Wuse with some boys, who were now at large to attack him.
The prosecutor said the accused and “his boys’’ beat the complainant, attacked him with knives and other dangerous weapons.
He said that during the process of the attack, the complainant lost N35, 000 and other items.
According to Oyeyemi, the offences are contrary to Sections 79, 265, 242 and 327 of the Penal Code.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mohammed Tahir, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200, 000 with one surety in like sum, who must be a civil servant.
He ordered that the surety must reside within the jurisdiction of the court and adjourned the case until Feb.24, for hearing. (NAN)
