Lagos, Jan. 9, 2018 (NAN) The police on Tuesday arraigned one Segun Ayeni, 24, in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly breaking into an apartment and stealing a cell phone worth N180,000.
Ayeni, who resides at No. 14, John Abiodun Str., Oluwaga, Ipaja, Lagos, is standing trial on a two-count charge of housebreaking and stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecutor, Victor Eruada, told the court that the accused committed the offences with one other person now at large on Dec. 11 at No. 12, John Aboidun Str., Oluwaga, Ipaja, Lagos.
According to him, the accused entered the apartment of the complainant, Mr Majekodunmi Afolabi, and stole a Samsung phone valued at N180, 000.
He added that the accused was caught by Afolabi while he was coming out from the apartment of the complainant with the cell phone.
The offences, he said, contravened Sections 287 and 406 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
The Magistrate, Mrs G.O. Anifowoshe, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case till Jan. 17 for mention. (NAN)
