Man charged with alleged trespass, gets N50,000 bail

Abuja, March 13, 2018 (NAN) A 31-year-old man, Emmanuel Isung, arraigned at a Grade 1 Area Court, Karu, Abuja, for allegedly stealing a set of split unit air-conditioners has been granted bail in the sum of N50,000.
The defendant, who resides at Hilton Hotel, Karu, Abuja, was arraigned on two-count charge, bordering on criminal trespass and theft, offences he denied committing.
The prosecutor, Vincent Osuji, told the court that one Miss Fidelia Akala of Phase 2, FHA, Karu, Abuja, reported the matter at the Karu Police Station, Abuja.
He said that the complainant alleged that on March 1, the defendant conspired with one Isaac and Maria of Karu, now at large and stole a set of split unit air-conditioners at her residence.
According to the prosecutor, the offences are contrary to and punishable under Sections 348 and 79 of the Penal Code.
The judge, Hassan Ishaq, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until April 23, for hearing. (NAN)
