Kano, March 7, 2017 (NAN) The Kano State Fire Service  saved 94 lives and goods worth N44.2 million from 62 fire outbreaks in February, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Its director, Alhaji Mustapha Rilwan, also told NAN in Kano on Tuesday that the estimated property destroyed by fire during the period was N25.3 million.

“We received 84 rescue calls and 62 false alarms from the public,” he said.

Rilwan, who said that 94 lives were saved from the incidents, regretted that three lives were lost.

The director, however, advised the general public against storing petrol in their shops and houses during the dry season.

He said this was to avoid unforeseen dangers. (NAN)
