Amendment

Minna, March 6, 2017 (NAN) Mr Taidi Jonathan, a former Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Minna chapter has called for an amendment to the 1999 Constitution to accommodate whistle blower policy.

Taidi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna on Monday that stolen public funds hitherto stashed away could be recovered and channeled to the provision of infrastructure across the country.

He lamented that stolen funds were stashed away in containers, farm resorts and other unusual places, while many communities lacked basic amenities.

He urged Nigerians to embrace the Federal Government’s whistle-blower policy, saying that recent recovery of looted funds was a proof that the strategy was dependable.

“Nigerians should align with the principle of whistle-blowing to support the anti-graft agencies in their drive to rid our country of acts of corruption,’’ he added. (NAN)
