Abuja, Feb.13, 2017(NAN) A Gudu Upper Area Court, Abuja, on Monday revoked the bail it granted one Nonso Samuel, docked for alleged car snatching.

The court also issued a bench warrant against Samuel.

The warrant was issued following the submission of the prosecuting counsel, Mr Umoh Inah, that the defendant had failed to appear in court.

The judge, Mr Umar Kagarko, ordered that the defendant be re-arrested and brought to court.

Inah told the court that after the defendant was granted bail, he succeeded in snatching two vehicles and currently held in detention

“ It is a disheartening scenario. Nonso has two matters at Gwagwalada where he got bail and succeeded in snatching two vehicles,’’ the prosecutor said.

He also said that the “possibility of tracing the sureties was not there.’’

Kagarko blamed public prosecutors for not   tracing the addresses of sureties as ordered by the court and adjourned hearing till April 5.

The defendant allegedly robbed one Elizabeth Umana of her Honda car with registration number LSR 480 DW on Sept.19,2016.

He was arraigned on Dec.19, 2016 along with two others on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and robbery.

Nonso was also alleged to have robbed one Mrs Golda Osikbora of her Prado jeep with registration number RSH 418 KM. (NAN)
