Minna, Feb.17, 2018 (NAN) Malam Bashir Yankuzu, the Chief Imam, Federal University of Technology, Minna Central Mosque, has advised eligible Nigerians to register in the ongoing continuous voters’ registration exercise.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Yankuzu spoke during the Friday sermon at the Central Mosque.

He said that acquiring Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) would enable Nigerians to elect credible leaders of their choice.

“I urge those that had earlier registered and have not collected their PVCs to do so, to enable them to elect credible leaders.

“We must not partake in promoting corrupt or evil people to take the mantle of leadership in our society.

“We must get our voter’s card and use it wisely during elections.”

Yankuzu observed that in Nigeria, the privileged few occupied positions only to care for and enrich themselves and their associates and yet expect Allah to be on their side.

“Our community must wake up to its responsibility, remain united and identify itself only with those who care for its well-being.

“We must fight corruption and immorality among our youths; survival of the country calls for our individual and collective efforts,” he said. (NAN)
