Businessman remanded over alleged theft of 3 cell phones

Minna, Feb.16, 2018 (NAN) A Minna Magistrates’ Court on Friday ordered the remand of a 30-year-old man, Danlami Abdullahi, for allegedly stealing three cell phones.

Abdullahi is standing trial on a three-count charge of criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass and theft, offences he denied committing.

The magistrate, Amina Musa, ordered the remand of the defendant in prison and adjourned the case until Feb. 27 for further mention.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp. Muazu Abdullahi, had told the court that one Safiya Ndako, reported the matter at the State Criminal Investigation Department on Jan.31.
Abdullahi said that the accused conspired with one other person still at large to trespass into the complainant’s residence at midnight and stole three cell phones, valued at N60, 000.
He said that during police investigation, one of the cell phone was recovered from the accused.
According to him, the offences contravened Sections 97, 348 and 288 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
