Facility
Alkaleri (Bauchi) March, 24, 2017(NAN) The Community Head of Kutarun Kuka village in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi, Mr Mohammad Jauro, on Friday appealed to the state government to establish a health facility in the area.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Alkaleri, Jauro said they were in dire need of the facility as pregnant women had to be travelling 50 km to attend ante-natal clinic in another town..
He said that the absence of a health facility in the area had discouraged a lot of pregnant women from attending the clinic.
“We need to feel government’s impact in our community, especially in the provision of social amenities.
“Our women cannot access ante-natal clinics because they will have to travel 50 km to Alkaleri, town, which is the nearest community with such facility.
“Sometimes, our women give birth on the way to the facility, which is very risky.
“We are therefore appealing to the government to establish such facility in our community,’’ he said.
Jauro, also urged the government to provide potable water and education facilities for the community..(NAN)
