Abuja, Feb. 9, 2017 (NAN) Babangida Maihula, National President, Amalgamated Commercial Tricycles, Motorcycle Owners, Repairers and Riders Association, says the association will embark on massive registration of its members nationwide.
Maihula made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja.
According to him, membership of the association presently stands at 12 million nationwide.

“We continue to have new members joining the business on a daily basis that are yet to be registered.
“If all our members are fully and duly registered the vices perpetrated by “Okada riders“ would be reduced drastically,” he said.
The chairman said the membership was on the daily increase as result of the unemployment among youths in the country
Maihula, however, said that they are ready to complement government’s efforts in ensuring peace by introducing some measures that would reduce crimes among our members.
“We feel this is the time we should have an elaborate policy that can complement the government’s efforts in ensuring peace in the country.
According to him, the association is trying to sanitize and purge our members from all the vices, especially the security aspect.
“We are already making contact with expert on how to reduce accident and crimes to the minimal,’’ he added.
He further said that the data capturing would go a long way to ascertain the total number of members and help in tracking crimes in the country.
The president said that after the upcoming convention on Feb. 28 the data registration would commence. (NAN)
