Lagos, Dec. 14, 2016 (NAN) A 28-year-old unemployed man, Okoro Osinachi, was on Wednesday arraigned in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court  for allegedly stealing ceiling fan valued at N5, 000 and damaging an entrance door.
The accused, who lives at St. Peters Anglican School, Alausa, Ikeja, is facing a two-count charge, bordering on stealing and damage.
Prosecutor Eruada Victor told the court that the accused committed the offences on Dec. 3 at the school premises.
According to the prosecutor, the accused stole the ceiling fan valued at N5,000, property of St. Peters Anglican School and damaged the entrance door valued at N15,000 .
“The accused was caught in the act and the case was reported at the police station, which led to the arrest of the accused.’’
He said the accused had been staying in the school illegally and was warmed severely to leave the school premises, but he refused.
The offences contravened Sections 285 and 348 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N20, 000, with one surety in like sum.
The Magistrate, Mrs G. O. Anifowoshe, adjourned the case till Dec. 21 for mention. (NAN)
