Lagos, Feb.1, 2017 (NAN) A 28-year-old man, Kachi Chinedu, charged with trafficking of two teenage girls, was on Wednesday brought before an Ebute Meta Chief magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
The accused is facing a three-count charge bordering on human trafficking and conspiracy.
Prosecutor Cousin Adams told the court that the accused committed the offences on Jan. 15 at WhiteSand area of Ijora and at Somolu, Bariga, Lagos.
He said the accused was caught when he wanted to transport his victims (names withheld) from Nigeria to Port Novo and Burkina Faso for of sex hawking.
The offences contravened Sections 274(7) and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos state, 2011.
Chinedu pleaded innocence of the offences and was granted bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two responsible sureties in like sum.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.O.A. Fowowe-Erusiafe, who gave the ruling, said the sureties must show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
The case was adjourned to Feb. 27 for mention. (NAN)
