Lagos, Jan. 27, 2017(NAN) Three unemployed persons, who allegedly robbed two individuals of their mobile phones valued at N200,000, on Friday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
The accused, Yusuf Adewale, 20, Faruq Afololagba, 23, and Kabiru Afolabi, 20, all living in Agbado area of Lagos State are facing a three-count charge bordering on robbery and conspiracy.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Simeon Inuoha, told the court that the accused committed the offences with some others still at large on Dec. 6 at Elegushi St., Ajah, Lagos.
Inuoha said that accused armed themselves with broken bottles and other dangerous weapons to rob the passersby.
“They robbed two pedestrians of their mobile phones and inflected injuries on them. They were caught by some other passersby” he said.
The offences contravened Sections 292 and 295 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B. O Osunsanmi, ordered that the accused should be remanded in Kirikiri Prisons and adjourned the case to Feb. 20 for hearing. (NAN)
