Abuja, Jan. 17, 2017 (NAN) The National Industrial Court has adjourned hearing in a case seeking payment of N11 million pension to a retired officer of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) till Feb. 9.
Mr Alalibo Davies, a retired staff member of the NCS, had challenged the National Pension Commission, alleging discrepancies in his pension.
Davies joined the Premium Pension Limited as well as the NCS as co- respondents.
The claimant is asking the court to prevail on the pension board to pay him N11 million as the pension sum due to him.
The judge, Justice Edith Agbakoba, on Tuesday adjourned hearing in the case at the instance of claimant’s counsel, Mr E. Ayinmonge, who informed the court of the respondents’ motion for extension of time.
Agbakoba told the court that since the respondents had filed a motion for extension of time, it had become imperative to fix another date for hearing.
“My Lord, there is a motion by the respondents asking for extension of time. The case today is for mention and the respondents have been served. We shall be asking for a date for hearing,” Ayinmonge said. (NAN)
