Minna, Jan. 9, 2017( NAN) The outgoing Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Niger, Suzan Ajenge, on Monday charged the 37 newly promoted officers to commit themselves more to ensuring safety on Nigerian roads.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ajenge spoke in Minna while decorating 12 senior officers and 25 marshal’s of the command who were newly promoted.
She urged them to demonstrate professionalism in their duties, assuring them that the corps would continue to encourage them to ensure effective service delivery.
” This is a new year, we have started with the promotion; it is the beginning of the good things to come.
” I am strongly advising all officers to be up-and- doing in their official duties to ensure optimal performance.
” To the newly promoted officers, I urge you to discharge your official duties more diligently and professionally in the interest of our great nation.”
She reiterated the commitment of the corps to prevent roads crashes across the country and urged motorists to always obey traffic rules.
“We would continue to sensitise road users in Niger State on the need to adhere strictly to traffic laws and regulations to achieve zero crashes.
“There is no need for drivers to be speeding, over-loading and engage in dangerous over-taking while driving.”
Ibrahim Abubakar, a Deputy Corps Marshal, who spoke on behalf of the promoted officers, pledged that they would be more professional and committed to their duties. (NAN)
