Defilement

Lagos, Dec. 23, 2016 (NAN) A factory worker, Dare Adamolekun, who allegedly defiled a teenage girl, was on Friday given a temporary reprieve as he was granted a bail of N300, 000 on the orders of an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi, who gave the ruling, also granted the accused two sureties in like sum.
The accused, who resides at Harmony Estate, Ajah, a suburb of Lagos is being tried for rape.
He, however, entered a `not guilty’ plea.
According to Insp. Simeon Inuoha, the prosecutor, the accused accosted the 13-year-old girl on her way home and lured her into his room before defiling her.
“The accused lured her into his room on the pretext of sending her to her brother. The accused then pounced on her and raped her.”
The offence contravened Section 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The magistrate adjourned the case to Feb. 16 for mention. (NAN)
