Lafia, Nov. 25, 2016 (NAN) The Nasarawa Coalition of Business and Professional Association (NCBPA), an Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), says it will partner with media practitioners to sensitise members of the public on business opportunities.

Mrs Joana Bello, the Chairman of the coalition, stated this on Friday during a one-day sensitisation workshop for members of the group and representatives of various media organisations in Lafia.

According to Bello, the association which is non-tribal, non-religius and non-political, is identifying business opportunities and their challenges in order to influence policy makers to make business-friendly policies.

“As you can see this huge responsibility of ensuring a conducive business environment for the country’s economic development cannot be achieved without the media.

“The media should be much concerned about taking part in business issues and educating members of the public on the effects and benefits of any economic policy of government because it also affects them,” she said.

Bello, therefore, expressed hope that the synergy between the group and the media would go a long way in complementing the Federal Government’s efforts toward bringing the country out of recession.

Also, Mrs Kaneng Rwang-Pam, a resource person at the workshop, said that the media should join the group in business advocacy in order to draw attention of government on the challenges confronting business people in the country.

“If business environment is good, it would stimulate economic growth and steer the country toward real diversification of the economy,’’ Rwang-Pam said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the workshop was attended by the representatives of various media organisations and members of the coalition. (NAN)
