Abuja, March 29, 2018 (NAN) Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Mbodo Aluu, Rivers State, has urged Christians and Nigerians to imbibe the virtue of selflessness as exemplified in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, the General Overseer of the ministries made the call in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja.

Chinyere further urged Nigerians to embrace peace and show love for their neighbours as Christians celebrate the Easter.

He said that Nigerians should endeavour to imbibe the lessons of the resurrection by perseverance and showing support to the less privileged to promote unity in the country.

“My message to all the Christians as well as Nigerians is that they should use this Easter season to learn how to make sacrifice by loving one another.

“Jesus Christ sacrificed himself for us to be saved, the reason for the death and resurrection of Christ is that he surrendered all for the sake of the world.

“We also should imbibe the same manner, let us stop being selfish, we should emulate our Lord Jesus Christ by helping one another.

“When we help the poor in our area, it will touch their lives positively.

“True Christianity is measured by how many lives you have impacted not how many houses or riches you have acquired and that is not Christ like.

“When we imbibe this spirit of love, selfishness and learn to tolerate one another irrespective of our religion, tribe or political affiliation, the nation will be a better one.

“Therefore, my advice to all Nigerians is to allow love to clean up all kinds of disgust, selfishness, insatiability, annoyance and jealousy in our lives to enable the nation to progress.’’

“So when you help the people in the church, you have as well helped the nation and at the same time demonstrated the love of Christ.

“The demonstration will also affect the progress of the nation.

“Jesus paid a debt which he did not owe; the death is for the salvation of you and I who will never have been able to pay.

“It is the ultimate story of a second chance at redemption. This is the crux of our faith, the proof of God’s love for mankind and the centre of Christianity,’’ Chinyere said.  (NAN)
