Abuja, May 2, 2017 (NAN) Mr Mohammed Kari, the Commissioner for Insurance, National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), has urged members of staff of the commission to render maximum support to the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner, Technical.
A statement by the management of the commission on Tuesday said that Kari made the call when Mr Sunday Thomas, the Deputy Commission, Technical, was presented to staff of the commission in Abuja.
The deputy commissioner was appointed by the President, Muhammadu Buhari on April 20.
Kari described Thomas’s appointment as a home coming as he was retired as a director of the commission in 2009.
He urged members of staff and management to extend their support and cooperation to the new deputy commissioner, technical as he settled into his new assignment.
Responding, Thomas expressed his desire to work with the management and staff of the commission in order to take the commission to the next level.
Thomas was the fifth Director-General, Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) before his appointment.
He had worked as a Director in charge of the Inspectorate Directorate at the National Insurance Commission from 1992 to 2009 before he retired.
Before his appointment at the commission, he had worked for over 10 years in the insurance industry where he rose to the Assistant General Manager at AIICO Insurance Plc. (NAN)
