Trader docked for allegedly biting man’s lips

Ikorodu (Lagos State), Feb. 9, 2017 (NAN) A 49-year-old trader, Nwagwu Chidi, who allegedly bit his fellow man’s lips was on Thursday arraigned in an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Courts, Lagos State.
The accused, who resides at Garage roundabout area of Lagos, is facing a one-count charge of grievous harm, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Cpl. Bosede Adegeshin, told the court that the accused on Dec. 16, 2016, attacked one Gabriel Nnaji by viciously biting him on the lips during an argument, which led to misunderstanding.
” The accused bite him to the extent that the lips almost fell off, and caused him a permanent injury, “she said.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 243 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
The section prescribes seven years imprisonment for offenders.
The Magistrate, Mr O.O.Olatunji granted bail to the accused in the sum of N50,000, with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till March 9, for mention. (NAN)
