Yobe Resettlement committee supports 18 returnee communities

Goniri (Yobe), Nov. 10, 2016 (NAN) The Yobe Committee on Resettlement and Rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Persons on Thursday distributed foods and clothes to returnees in18 communities.
The state Deputy Governor, Abubakar Aliyu, who served as Chairman of the committee, said this in Goniri while distributing foods and non-food items to support the resettlement process in returnee communities.
“Government followed you to Goniri, Gotala, Shettimari, Goni Ngomari, Bulabulin, Gotumba and all other affected villages to support your resettlement and rehabilitation process here at home, “ he said.
The deputy governor, who was represented by Alhaji Bulama Bukar, a legislator representing Gujba State Constituency, urged the beneficiaries to engage in economic activities to rebuild their lives.
He gave assurance that “government and other partners will continue to support you to rebuild your lives here in your communities.
“It is in line with this that the resettlement and rehabilitation committee followed you to your communities to support you with these food and non-food items, “ he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that 18 communities in Gujba Local Government Area were supported with 3,140 bags of rice, 575 cartons of milk and 2,000 children wears.
Others include 4,000 cartons of soap, 950 pieces of adult wears, detergents, school bags and shoes, among others.
Abubakar warned the beneficiary communities against selling the items donated, saying: “if you make good use of them, you will encourage government and other partners to provide you with more. “ (NAN)
