Minna, Aug. 22, 2017 (NAN) A university lecturer, Mallam Bashir Yankuzu, on Tuesday, called on Nigerians to consciously work for the the unity of Nigeria to ensure its socio-economic and political development.
Yankuzu, who is of the Department of Educational Service, Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, made this call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The lecturer stated that the nation’s desire to achieve greatness could only become a reality through the collective efforts of all the citizens.
‘‘We should collectively set aside our political and religious differences so as to utilise the abandoned material resources spread across the nation for the common good of all Nigerians.
‘‘Our future generations will not forgive us if we fail to make use of our talents in laying a solid foundation for the growth of our country,” he said.
Yankuzu stressed the need for all Nigerians to know that we are stronger being together and stand to benefit enormously from the country’s vast resources.
He called on religious leaders to devote quality time to pray for Nigerian leaders, so that they would govern the country with the fear of God at all times.
The university teacher also called on lawmakers at the federal and state legislatures to enact laws that would pave the way for the good governance of the country. (NAN)
