Woman in court for allegedly cutting client with razor

Lagos, April 24, 2017(NAN) A 28-year-old woman, Ruth Chimezie, who allegedly cut her client with a razor on the face and neck was on Monday brought before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.

The accused, a social worker, who resides at Akin Adegbite St., Ayobo, suburb of Lagos is being tried for assault.

The prosecutor, Insp . Racheal Williams told the court that the offence was committed at the accused residence.

Williams said that a fight ensued between the accused and the complainant, Mr Ganiyu Adewale over money.

“After the accused service, she alleged that the complainant did not pay the amount they agreed with.

“A fight ensued and the accused cut the complainant with a razor on his face and neck which caused him serious injury, ” she said.

The offence contravened Section 245 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs L. Y Balogun granted the accused to a bail of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Balogun adjourned the case until May 8 for mention. (NAN)
