Lagos , June 14, 2018 (NAN) The Police on Thursday arraigned a 32-year-old welder, Babatunde Mojeed, at an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 phone, valued at N45, 000.

Mojeed, whose address is not given, is being tried for conspiracy and stealing.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Victor Eruada, told the court that the accused with another person now at large, committed the offences on June 5 at No 39, Surulere St., Dopemu, Agege, Lagos.

Eruada alleged that the accused and his accomplice stole a mobile phone worth N45,000 belonging to Mrs Patience Oniewe, in a canteen where they had gone to eat.

The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, which stipulated a three-year jail term on conviction.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs M.I. Dan-Oni, granted the accused a bail in the sum of N20, 000 with one surety in like sum.

She said that the surety must be gainfully employed and should show evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government as part of the bail conditions.

Dan-Oni adjourned the case until July 9 for mention. (NAN)
