1. Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has directed the
termination of the appointment of Director General, State Security
Service, Lawal Musa Daura, with immediate effect, over unauthorized
takeover of the National Assembly Complex by operatives of the
service.
Osinbajo, who described the act as a gross violation of constitutional
order, rule of law, and all acceptable notions of law and order,
directed Daura to hand over to the most senior officer of the Service
until further notice.

2. The Inspector-General of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, has
exonerated the Nigerian Police Force from the blockage of the national
assembly complex.
Idris, who had earlier attended a meeting with acting president, Chief
of Staff to the President Mallam Abba Kyari and the sacked DSS boss,
said the police would investigate the incident and act appropriately.

3. The Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council says it
will encourage inclusion of more experiments in education curriculum
in the country.
Professor Ismail Junaidu, the Executive Secretary of the Council said
lots of experiments using different objects and elements would help to
make science less abstract and more tangible.

4. The Federal Government and World Bank, under the West Africa
Agricultural Transformation Programme, will establish regional markets
to boost agriculture development in the country.
Dr James Apochi, the National Coordinator of the programme, said the
project would improve nutrition and quality of agriculture produce
across the country.

5. A Munich-based start-up has taken advantage of the strong Bavarian
sun this summer to test the final development of the charging system
of its Sion car, an all-electric solar vehicle that lets you charge as
you drive.
The Sion, a fully-electric vehicle with solar cells integrated into
its bodywork, can be charged from conventional power outlets or other
electric cars.
