VC, Ibrahim Babangida University describes late kure as a visionary leader

Minna, Jan.10, 2017 (NAN) Prof. Mohammed Maiturare, Vice-Chancellor, Ibrahim Babangida University, Lapai, on Tuesday described the late Abdulkadir kure, a former Governor of Niger, as a visionary leader.

Maiturare told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna that the qualitative leadership of the deceased paved way for the establishment of the Ibrahim Babangida University.

“This generation and indeed the future generation will remember the late Kure for preparing it for academic excellence through the university education,” he said.

He said that the deceased invested so much in educational sector in preparing excellent academic ground for the people of the state.

“From Allah we come to him, we shall all return, Abdulkadir is very simply, humble, never take his position to undermine ordinary Nigerians.”

“The University and its host communities will indeed miss this humble person, may Almighty Allah reward him with paradise.”

NAN recalls that Kure, who died on Jan.8 at the age of 60, was the Governor of Niger from May 29, 1999 to May29, 2007 and a member of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Kure was married to Sen.Zainab Kure and the marriage is blessed with two daughters and four sons.(NAN)
