Unemployed man docked for hemp trafficking

Lagos, Jan. 10, 2017 (NAN) A 23-year-old man, Musa Idris, was arraigned in Lagos on Tuesday for trafficking in Indian hemp.
Idris, an unemployed, is facing a one-count charge bordering on illicit drug deal before a Federal High Court in Lagos.
The accused pleaded guilty to the charge brought against him by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The Prosecutor, Mr Jeremiah Aernan, then prayed the court for a date to review the facts of the case and sought an order to remand the accused.
The prosecutor had told the court that the accused was arrested with 200 grammes of Indian hemp on Dec. 8, 2016 at Alaba Rago area of Ojo, Lagos State.
He said that the offence contravened Section 11 (c) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N30 Law of the Federation, 2004.
Justice Mohammed Idris, in a short ruling, adjourned for review of the facts of the case until Jan. 18.
The court ordered that the accused be remanded in prison until the adjourned date. (NAN)
