Lagos, Dec. 16, 2016 (NAN) An unemployed man, Akeem Folorunsho, on Friday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged robbery.
Folorunsho, who resides at Idimu area of Lagos is being tried for conspiracy, assault and attempt to rob.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Simeon Inuoha, told the court that the offences were committed on Oct. 23 at 6, Ismaila Abass St., Igando, Lagos.
Inuoha said that the accused and one other at large, went to the residence of one Mr Johnbull Etinagbedia with the intention of robbing him.
“The accused was armed with a cutlass and iron rod, and used it to injure the complainant on the head.
“The complainant was in a pool of his blood when he shouted for help. It was the neighbours who heard him crying that came to his rescue.
“The accused was apprehended while the other accomplice escaped,’’ he said.
He said the offences contravened Sections 171, 173 and 297 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B. O. Osunsanmi, granted the accused a N500,000 bail, with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case to Feb. 20 for mention. (NAN)
