Remand

Abuja, April 25, 2018 (NAN) A Karmo Grade I Area Court in Abuja on Wednesday ordered the remand of Kenneth John and Lod Yohanna in Prison for alleged house breaking, mobile phones theft and inflicting injury on their victims.
The judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, gave the order after John and Yohanna of no fixed address, pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
The defendants are standing trial for joint act, criminal trespass, house breaking, stealing and causing grievous hurt.
Sadiq adjourned the case until May 21 for hearing.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Zannah Dalhatu, told the court that the victims – Mathero Udo, Mike Etop and Innocent Monday – all of Dape Village Abuja, reported the matter at the Life Camp Police Station, Abuja, on April 18.
Dalhatu said the complainants alleged that on same date while they were sleeping in their room, the defendants broke into the room and stole three phones which estimated value was not stated.
The prosecutor said that the defendants also inflicted injuries on the complainants.
According to him, during police investigation some sharp objects where recovered from the defendants.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravene Sections 79, 342, 347, 288 and 245 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
