Kube (Nasarawa State), Nov.7, 2017 (NAN) Mr Christopher Jatau, the Uehra Ashea of Kube Chiefdom in Nasarawa State has advised youths to always exhibit good conduct and engage in meaningful ventures to foster unity.

Jatau, a second class traditional ruler gave the advice in Kube on Tuesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at his palace in Panda Development Area of the state.

Jatau said that no nation could develop without the youth, and urged them to always shun negative acts in the interest of peace and national development.

According to him, youths are the backbone of social, economic and political development of the nation.

He urged them to shun social vices and embrace western education as well as live peacefully with one another.

“As a traditional ruler, we are the custodian of people, peace and culture and it is our role to preach peace to our subjects and Nigerians at large

“Because peace is priceless and non-negotiable, it is the necessary requirement for the development of any nation.

“I also want to call on the youth to embrace western education by engaging in meaningful ventures to become self reliant and contribute to national development,’’ he said.

The traditional ruler also advised them to pursue attributes that would make them self reliant, instead of allowing themselves to be used by selfish individuals to cause mayhem.

The monarch urged the people of the state and Nigerians in general to continue to live in peace and tolerate one another, irrespective of ethnic, religious or political affiliations.

He also commended Gov.Tanko Al-makura for embarking on projects and programmes that had direct bearing on the people of the state and called for its sustenance. (NAN)
