Teenager docked over alleged theft of Plasma Television worths N40, 000

Ile-Ife (Osun), Dec. 20, 2017 (NAN) A teenager, Thank-God Hjorin, who stole a Plasma Television valued at N40,000, was on Wednesday docked before an Osun Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife.

Hjorin is facing a charge of stealing to which he pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Olalekan Ijiyode granted the accused bail of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum.

Ijiyode said that the surety must swear to an affidavit of means, resides within the court’s jurisdiction and produce two recent passport photographs.

According to him, the surety must be a civil servant.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Sunday Osanyintuyi, had told the court that the accused committed the offence on Dec.18, 2017 around 12:00 p.m at No.175, Fajuyi St., Ilesa Road, Ile-Ife.

Osanyintuyi said that the accused unlawfully entered the apartment of Jegede Oladapo and stole a Plasma Television valued at N40, 000.

He added that the offence contravened Sections 383 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.

The case was adjourned until Jan. 22 for hearing. (NAN)
