Ado-Ekiti, March 7, 2017 (NAN) The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ekiti state chapter, on Tuesday commended Gov. Mr Ayodele Fayose for the ongoing rehabilitation of facilities at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium.
The State Chairman of the Association, Mr Ayodeji Ogunsakin, gave the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ado-Ekiti.
He said the sports writers were delighted with the decision of the governor to repair the roof top of the stadium and give it a new look.
Ogunsakin also commended the governor for the repairs of over 50 toilets, boreholes and pumping machines in the stadium.
He said the new development would enable sports council staff have access to portable water and a conducive environment.
Ogunsakin said it was an indication that the governor was committed to the development of sports and welfare of sports council staff.
The SWAN chairman, however, appealed to the governor to provide more sports equipment for the athletes to train and prepare them ahead for competitions.
Ogunsakin explained that some of the coaches in the council do not have sufficient facilities to train their athletes.
He appealed to the sports council staff to use the newly repaired and other upgraded facilities judiciously. (NAN)
