Minna, Oct. 3, 2017 (NAN) Suleja Local Government of Niger on Tuesday in Minna announced that it realised over N90 million as internally generated revenue from January to September.
Alhaji Shuaibu Maje, Chairman of the council, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the money had already been channeled to the execution of capital projects in the area.
He listed the projects to include bore holes, culverts, provision of drugs and medical needs for its health institutions.
He explained that a revenue committee, saddled with the responsibility of ensuring proper collection, had been directed to ensure that monies realised were not diverted.
He called for more support, especially from shop owners, for revenue collection officers.
Maje added that monies realised would be used to provide dividends of democracy to the people, to improve on their leaving standard and develop the local government (NAN)
