Gamawa (Bauchi) Aug. 30, 2018 (NAN) The Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in Gamawa and Zaki Local Governments Areas of Bauchi State, have called for the establishment of more toilet facilities in public places.
Ahmed Juji, Chairman Ward Development Committee Gamawa Local Area, made the call on behalf of the stakeholders at the cluster meeting of Vote4WASH in Gamawa.
He said lack of toilet facilities in public places such as parks, schools, markets, hospitals, churches and mosques, posed serious threat to the health care of the communities.
“That is why we are appealing to government and philanthropists, to establish public toilets, bathrooms, water taps or boreholes in public places.
“Our health status is in danger with indiscriminate faeces, urine, water and used toilet tissues among others, it also emits unbearable odour,” he said.
