Slight dust haze, partly cloudy atmosphere to prevail on Monday – NiMet

Abuja, Feb. 12, 2017 (NAN) The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted slight dust haze conditions over the central states of the country on Monday.

NiMet gave the prediction in its Weather Outlook by the Central Forecast Office on Sunday in Abuja.

It also predicted that the region would have day and night temperature of 26 to 38 degrees Celsius and 13 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

The agency predicted southern states would partly cloudy to cloudy conditions in the morning with afternoon Isolated thunderstorms over Abeokuta, Ibadan, Oshogbo, Ado-Ekiti, Akure, Benin and its environ.

It also predicted partly cloudy over the south-east inland and isolated rain showers over the southeast coast with day and night temperatures of 33 to 36 and 22 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to NiMet, northern states will experience slight dust haze conditions with localised horizontal visibility of one to three kilometres over few places in the next 24 hours.

“Northern states will also have day and night temperature values in the range of 31 to 38 and 12 to 20 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Fresh Dust has been raised and is expected to affect the northern cities; on the other hand, there is increase in dew point temperatures and relative humidity which is favourable for rainfall activities,” NiMet predicted. (NAN)
