Abuja, July 5, 2018 (NAN) Mr Mohammed Alkali, Head, Personnel Management, Kuje Area Council, FCT, has called on members of staff of the council to imbibe the culture of record keeping, to ensure transparency and efficient service delivery.
Alkali made the call on Thursday in Kuje at a two-day workshop on record management.
He said the workshop, which was organised for junior staff from grade level 3 to 6 was aimed at reminding them of the need to keep records.
Alkali said the idea was to also ensure effective service delivery among the participating category of staff.
He urged the participants to be attentive to the resource persons at the workshop and ensure that lessons learnt were put to practice.
Mr Al-Abdulkarim Sule, Divisional Head, Store and Procurement in his paper at the workshop said record keeping was important for effective and efficient decision making.
“Every purposeful organisation must have and maintain good records, if the business must survive and the lack of this automatically leads to failure.
“However, it is pertinent to point out that the nature of business will determine the type of records to keep,’’ he said. (NAN)
