Okon, who lives at Oladeinde Street in Ijesha area of Lagos, is facing charges of stealing and breach of peace.
Although the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges, the Prosecutor, Insp. Victor Eruada, told the court that the accused
committed the offences on April 24 at Jumia Company Nigeria Ltd located at No. 1, Surulere St., Ogba Road, Lagos.
The accused, he said, entered the warehouse and stole an Infinix hot 4 valued at N48, 000 belonging to Jumia Company Nigeria

He said the accused was, however, caught in the act by security guards on duty.
The offences contravened Sections 166 and 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 166 stipulates three months imprisonment or N45, 000 fine or both, while Section 285 prescribes a three-year jail term for stealing.
The Magistrate, Mrs G.O. Anifowoshe, in her ruling, admitted the accused to a bail of N40,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Anifowoshe said the sureties, who should be blood relations of the accused, should also show evidence of three years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the case until June 14 for mention. (NAN)
