Lagos, Aug. 8, 2018 (NAN) Table tennis fans at the ongoing Seamaster International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Challenge Nigeria Open have applauded Local Organising Committee (LOC) for making the competition’s ticket fee affordable.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that tickets for the tournament goes for N100 for popular stand and N300 for the VIP stand.
NAN also reports that 170 players from 27 countries are participating in the competition which served off on Wednesday in the Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, and would end Aug. 12.
A spectator, Rafiq Busari, told NAN that the LOC was considerate with the ticket costs, and that the amount had attracted more fans to pay their way to cheer the players.
Busari, who is a member of the Aruna Quadri fans club, said that fans were happy and had no difficulty to purchase the tickets to watch and cheer the player.
“The organisation of this year’s edition is okay, the LOC did not to increase the N100 ticket fee, and they made it easy for fans to buy tickets to watch the championships,” he said.
A physically challenged table table player, Ibrahim Rasaq, said he entered the venue at no cost as there was a directive from the LOC that people with physical disability should be allowed without ticket.
Rasaq said that the championships venue was in a healthy state and the toilet facilities in good conditions and easily accessible to all whenever the need arises in the course of the tournament.
“We, the disabled athletes in this hall did not pay to enter, even at the entrance, we were given special consideration and we are happy with the LOC.
“The environment is generally neat, the hall, and most importantly, the toilets are usable and convenient for us in our state because its in good condition, the facilities are functional,” he said.
Abiodun Mosunmola told NAN that he is member of Aruna Quadri Suppoters Club and that the fee had made it possible for members to come out en mass to cheer the ITTF 18th ranked player.
Mosunmola said that Quadri usually encouraged home-based players in so many ways and the championships were an enabling platform to drum their support for him. (NAN)
