Lagos, March 1, 2018 (NAN) An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Thursday remanded 21-year-old Abubakar Sani in Kirikiri Prisons for alleged house-break and stealing a generator worth N100,000.
The accused who resides in Ipaja area of Lagos is facing a two-count charge of house-breaking and stealing.
The magistrate, Mrs G.O. Anifowoshe, ordered the remand of the accused scrap-dealer in Kirikiri Prisons pending the receipt of legal advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPPs).
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp. Victor Eruada, had told the court that the accused broke the wall of the house, belonging to the complainant, Mr Ajao Lekan, with an iron rod.
The prosecutor said that act afforded the accused an opportunity to gain entrance into Lekan’s apartment and stole his generator.
“Luck ran out against the accused as people around the scene arrested him during the act and handed him over to the police,’’ he told the court.
Eruada said that the accused committed the offences on Jan. 27 at Gbadamosi Opesa in Ipaja near Lagos.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 311 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. (Revised).
Anifowoshe adjourned the case until March 7. (NAN)
