Abuja, Jan. 17, 2018 (NAN) A 30-year-old sales representative, Emmanuel Anano, was on Wednesday arraigned in a Karmo Grade1Area Court, Abuja, over alleged misappropriation of fund.
Anano of Jukwoyi Road, Abuja, is facing a count charge of criminal misappropriation.
The prosecutor, Dalhatu Zannah, had told the court that the matter was reported at Utako Police Station, Abuja, on Jan. 9, by one Nana Emovon of Oneal Centre, Jabi, Abuja.
Zannah said that sometime in June 2017, the complainant gave the defendant N25, 500 as monthly security contribution, but he dishonestly converted the said money to his own use.
He said that the defendant also sold four bags of rice valued at N36, 800, and deliberately refused to remit the money.
The prosecutor said during police investigation, the defendant confessed to the crime and all effort to recover the money proved abortive.
Zannah said the offence contravened Section 309 of the Penal Code.
The defendant pleaded not guilty, while the judge, Mr Abubakar Sadiq, granted him bail in the sum of N30, 000, with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until Feb. 8 for hearing.(NAN)
