Sales girl arraigned for allegedly pouring hot water on man’s face

Lagos, Oct. 16, 2017(NAN) An 18-year-old sales girl, Esther Daniel, who  allegedly bathed the face of one Anyaochukwu Obi with hot water has appeared in an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, charged with unlawful assault.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Kehinde Omisakin, told the court on Monday that the accused committed the offence on Oct. 15,  2.00 p.m., at No.18, Prince Adegboyega St., Sari Iganmu, Lagos.

Omisakin said the accused bathed Obi with a bottle of hot water, after he had a disagreement with her and her employer.

He said the offence contravened Section 245 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge while Chief Magistrate, Mr Tajudeen Elias, granted her N25,000 bail, ordered her to produce a surety in the like sum and adjourned the case til Nov. 1 for mention.

It found guilty, Daniel could face a three-year sentence for the offence.(NAN)
